Javon Perry, a 22-year-old father, was fatally shot on January 5, 2017, while pumping gas at a Marathon gas station on Gratiot Avenue and Eastburn Street on Detroit's east side. The incident occurred shortly after midnight after Perry had finished work for the day.

Surveillance footage from the gas station captured the moments leading up to the shooting. Two men, later identified as Derrick Quintin Everson Jr., 23, and Kyrell Raymon Alonzo, 24, were seen encountering Perry. After a brief ...
