Homer David 'Dave' Piatt, a 72-year-old man from Las Crucez, Ohio, passed away on October 15, 2020. He was a former Postmaster of Haydenville and a U.S. Army veteran. Dave suffered from chronic illness and mobility impairment. His wife, Gayle L. Piatt, shot him, claiming she did so to ease his suffering. Three days after the incident, she went to the police and confessed to the act.
