On November 14, 2020, Toby Smith, a 45-year-old Black man, was found unresponsive in the 2000 block of Rankin Avenue in East Linden, Columbus, OH. He was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at 10:49 AM by medics. The Columbus Division of Police responded to the scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
