Cortez Townsend, a 28-year-old Black male, tragically lost his life on November 27, 2020, in Columbus, Ohio. He was shot outside a gas station located at 1937 E. Livingston Avenue and Alum Creek Drive. Townsend was standing outside the business when he was shot, and after being wounded, he stumbled into the gas station where he collapsed. Despite immediate medical attention and transportation to Grant Medical Center, he was pronounced dead at 6:16 PM.
The Columbus Police Department
launched an investigation into Townsend's death, which was classified as a homicide. The case remains unsolved, and law enforcement continues to seek information from the public. The investigation revealed that Townsend was shot around 5:40 PM, and anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Columbus Police Homicide Unit or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers.
As of now, there have been no arrests or suspects identified in connection with Townsend's murder. The case is part of the Columbus Division of Police's ongoing efforts to solve unsolved homicides.
