Cortez Townsend, a 28-year-old Black male, tragically lost his life on November 27, 2020, in Columbus, Ohio. He was shot outside a gas station located at 1937 E. Livingston Avenue and Alum Creek Drive. Townsend was standing outside the business when he was shot, and after being wounded, he stumbled into the gas station where he collapsed. Despite immediate medical attention and transportation to Grant Medical Center, he was pronounced dead at 6:16 PM.
