Gavin Lane, a 30-year-old African American man from Columbus, Ohio, was tragically shot and killed on July 15, 2021. The incident occurred in the 900 block of Geers Avenue in east Columbus, just off East Livingston Avenue. When police arrived at the scene, they found Lane suffering from a gunshot wound in front of a residence. He was quickly transported to Grant Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
