On November 1, 2021, Yi Chia, a 35-year-old woman of Asian ethnicity, was tragically killed in a double murder-suicide in Westlake, Ohio. Yi Chia and her fiancé, 31-year-old Nathan Demetra, were found shot to death in Yi Chia's home on Willow Run. The suspected gunman, 45-year-old Brent Shira, was also found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in the basement of the home.
