Diana Rosaly, a 51-year-old woman from Youngstown, Ohio, tragically died on July 9, 2020. She was a victim of a murder-suicide committed by her mother, Suzanna Quionones Colon, who was 71 years old. According to police reports, Colon shot Rosaly before turning the gun on herself. The incident was discovered by a relative who found their bodies in their home on South Schenley Avenue.
Rosaly, who had cerebral palsy, was disabled and relied on her mother for care.
The police investigation concluded that this was a tragic case of a mother taking her own life after killing her daughter. There were no other suspects involved, and no further litigations or investigations were pursued as both individuals involved were deceased.
The case was officially closed as a murder-suicide, and it was a heartbreaking event for the community. The city of Youngstown recorded this incident as one of the 17 homicides in 2020, a slight decrease from the 20 homicides recorded in 2019.
