On December 7, 2021, 9-year-old Demetrius Wall-Neal and his 6-year-old sister, Londynn Wall-Neal, were tragically killed in a shooting incident in Columbus, Ohio. The siblings were in a car with their mother's boyfriend, 22-year-old Charles Wade, when the vehicle was attacked by multiple shooters. The suspects fired 68 rounds at the car, with Demetrius being hit 15 times, including three times in the head. Londynn was shot twice, but her brother's attempt to shield her likely saved her life.
