On June 16, 2022, 20-year-old Abukar Abdullahi Abdiaziz, a male of Somali descent, was fatally shot in the Franklin Township area of Columbus, Ohio. Deputies from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office responded to a call around 2:10 p.m. and found Abdiaziz lying in the roadway near the intersection of Knob Hill Court East and Westport Road. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body and was quickly transported to OhioHealth Doctors West Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
