Larry "Mike" Michael Coon, a 44-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity from Bidwell, Ohio, tragically passed away on December 11, 2022. He was a decorated Marine who served in the Iraq-Afghanistan War and was the recipient of a Purple Heart Medal and the Medal of Valor. Mike was deeply loved by his family, including his three daughters, stepsons, and eight grandchildren.
On the day of his death, Mike was involved in an argument with his relative, Bobby Coon, at a residence in Clay Township, Ohio. The argument escalated, and Bobby Coon allegedly shot Larry Coon, causing injuries that led to his death at Holzer Medical Center. Authorities were contacted at 2:51 p.m., and Larry Coon was transported to the medical center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Following the incident, Bobby Coon was arrested and taken to the Gallia County Jail. The Gallia County Sheriff’s Department, along with the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation, conducted an ongoing investigation into the matter. Charges against Bobby Coon were pending a consultation with the prosecuting attorney.
