Kimberly Ann Kalasky, a 41-year-old woman from Youngstown, Ohio, tragically died on December 17, 2022, at her home. She was born on May 10, 1981, and was a lifelong resident of Youngstown. Kimberly was a graduate of Chaney High School and is survived by her five children, two brothers, and many extended family members.
Kimberly's death was part of a double homicide that occurred on Cherry Hill Drive in Youngstown.
She was found alongside 51-year-old Joseph Sanders, both victims of a shooting inside their home. When police arrived, they discovered the couple lying facedown in the living room with several shell casings nearby. Detectives believe the shooting happened inside the home, as there were no signs of forced entry. Autopsies were conducted by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The investigation led to the arrest of 24-year-old Mikese Stevens, who was known to both victims. Stevens was questioned by police and later arrested and charged with the double homicide. In April 2024, Stevens pled guilty to two counts of murder and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 15 years. The court proceedings revealed that Stevens had some mental health issues, although an evaluation found that he did not have mental issues.
The case has been a source of immense pain for Kimberly's family and friends, who continue to seek answers and justice for her untimely death. The community has rallied around the family, offering support and condolences during this difficult time.
