Tonya Doreen Gillikin, a 30-year-old female police officer, tragically lost her life on March 15, 1999, in Enfield, North Carolina. She was serving with the Enfield Police Department at the time of her death. On the night of her death, Lieutenant Gillikin and another officer stopped a vehicle suspected of being involved in a robbery earlier that evening.
