Jennifer Renee Short, a 9-year-old Caucasian girl, was tragically murdered on August 15, 2002. Her parents, Michael and Mary Short, were found shot to death in their home in Bassett, Virginia. Michael was discovered on a couch in the garage, while Mary was found in her bed. Both had been shot in the head with a small-caliber gun.
