Barbara Jean Wheless Jackson, a 62-year-old woman from Holly Springs, NC, tragically died on May 24, 2005. She was found shot to death at the Fairfield Inn in Raleigh, NC, alongside Walter Edward Jones, a 53-year-old man from Raleigh. The incident was determined to be a murder-suicide. Jackson had recently ended her relationship with Jones, who had a history of criminal behavior, although none of his prior charges involved domestic violence.
