On July 19, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in Burlington, North Carolina, resulting in the death of 46-year-old Lourdes "Luly" Pagán Vega. Early that morning, around 7:12 a.m., the Alamance County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gunfire in the 3300 block of Beaver Creek Road. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Lourdes Vega's body at a neighboring residence, where she had fled in an attempt to escape the shooting.
