Clayton Herbert Berry, a 36-year-old Black male, was tragically shot and killed on October 30, 2006, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred following an altercation with two men in the parking lot of a convenience store located at 1419 W. Trade Street. Berry had ridden his bicycle to the location, where the fatal encounter took place. Despite efforts from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and Berry's family, his murder remains unsolved.
