Travis Mabine, a 24-year-old male of African American ethnicity from Ahoskie, NC, tragically lost his life on December 9, 2006. The incident occurred in the early morning hours when Curtis Lee Thomas, a man from Norfolk, Virginia, broke into the apartment of Vershaughna Holloman, who was dating Mabine at the time. Thomas, who had a history of domestic violence with Holloman, shot Mabine and attempted to kill Holloman as well.
The case went to trial, and Curtis Lee Thomas was found guilty
