Gerald Keith Lakey, a 32-year-old male, was fatally shot on May 9, 2008, in Lenoir, North Carolina. The incident occurred in the early morning hours when Officer Gary Dishman of the Lenoir Police Department encountered Barney Adrian Dunlap, who confessed to killing his wife and her boyfriend. Dunlap was subsequently arrested and found with two shotgun shells in his pocket.
