Jose David Martinez Aguilera, a 25-year-old male from Lenoir, North Carolina, tragically passed away on January 11, 2022. His death was the result of a shooting incident. Law enforcement officers and first responders found Martinez Aguilera inside a car, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation determined that he had been shot outside a home in Lenoir.
Following the incident, two individuals were
implicated in connection with Martinez Aguilera's death. Isaac McKinely Dixon, a 22-year-old male, was charged with murder. Dixon was taken into custody in Morganton and held without bond. Another individual, Zachary Nathaniel Kersey, also 22 years old, was charged with accessory after the fact to murder. Kersey was arrested at a motel in Lenoir and held under a $750,000 secured bond.
The investigation revealed that the shooting occurred inside a home on Quailridge Court in Lenoir. Both Dixon and Kersey were scheduled for their first court appearance on January 13, 2022. The case attracted significant attention, and the authorities continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting to ensure justice for Martinez Aguilera and his family.
