Jon-Michael Willis, a 31-year-old deputy sheriff from Greene County, North Carolina, tragically lost his life on July 28, 2010. Deputy Willis was responding to a domestic disturbance call at approximately 7:30 pm when he was fatally shot. As he entered the home, a male subject emerged from a bedroom and opened fire, striking Deputy Willis twice. The assailant then committed suicide.
