Devon Wayne Jones, a 30-year-old African American male, was found dead on June 23, 2014, in his home at 706 Williams Street, Kinston, North Carolina. He had suffered a gunshot wound to his back and was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred late Monday night when police responded to a shots-fired call around 10:30 p.m. The home had been hit several times by gunfire, and Jones was found lying on the floor with a fatal gunshot wound.
