Dedrick Deon Dail Jr., a 24-year-old male from Kinston, and Lockwood Morris Perry Jr., a 28-year-old male from Dover, were both charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting. Dail was already in custody at the Lenoir County jail on an unrelated charge of attempted murder stemming from a shooting in August. Perry was arrested without incident at his residence in Dover by members of the Kinston Police Department and the US Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force. Both suspects were placed in the Lenoir County Jail without bond.
