Jennifer Merriman, a 17-year-old black female, tragically lost her life on September 6, 2014, in Richfield, North Carolina. The incident occurred during a domestic disturbance involving her sister, Julia Moody, and Julia's estranged husband, Montannez Moody. Montannez Moody, a 33-year-old black male, forcibly entered the home by breaking a window and opened fire, resulting in the death of Jennifer Merriman and the serious injury of 54-year-old Bernice Merriman, who is Julia's aunt.
