Mark Antwan Peaks, a 30-year-old African American male, was found dead in Durham, North Carolina, on January 6, 2015. Peaks was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds in the 900 block of East Main Street, behind an apartment complex. The incident occurred around 2 a.m., and a crowd had gathered at the scene. Peaks was pronounced dead at the scene, and the police launched an investigation into his murder.
