Frederick A. Edgerton Jr., a 52-year-old male of African American ethnicity, was tragically shot and killed on May 18, 2015, in Durham, North Carolina. Edgerton, a former Marine, was employed by the Oakley Square Apartment Complex as a maintenance worker. He was well-regarded by residents, who described him as a pillar of the community and a good person who made them feel at home.
On the day of his death, Edgerton was found in the parking lot of the apartment complex with a gunshot wound.
