William Evans, a 65-year-old African American man from Durham, NC, was tragically shot and killed on June 25, 2015. He was found in a parking lot near the entrance of the Red Cross Blood Donation Center on University Drive. Evans was a long-term newspaper carrier for the Durham Herald-Sun, known for his reliability and dedication.

The investigation into his death led to the arrest of his 16-year-old grandson, Dominick Cortez Jackson. Jackson was charged with murder and held on a $10 mill ...
