Kynyatta Dmyr Tshiona, a 34-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on July 15, 2015, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred just after midnight when Tshiona was found inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds in the 2200 block of Rozzelles Ferry Road. His vehicle had crashed into a utility pole, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation into Tshiona's death led to the arrest and charging of six individuals.
David Ford III, 25, Adrian McLeod, 24, Antoine Nicholson, 23, Andrew Tarlton, 22, Destiny Gray, 22, and Tevin Faulkner, 23, were all identified as suspects in the case. Each of them was charged with murder, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
The arrests were made over the course of several days. Ford was taken into custody on a Monday, followed by McLeod and Nicholson on Tuesday. Gray, who was initially arrested on unrelated charges, was later connected to Tshiona's murder and subsequently charged. Tarlton was located and arrested on Wednesday, and Faulkner was charged on Thursday.
The case against the suspects was built on information and evidence gathered during the investigation. The charges brought against them reflect the severity of the crime and the coordinated effort to bring those responsible to justice.
