Cordarus Maurice Leake, a 28-year-old man from Albemarle, NC, tragically died on September 2, 2015, after being fatally shot while driving down Inger Street. The incident occurred when Leake's vehicle crashed into the front door of the Holiday Inn Express on Leonard Avenue. Upon arrival, police discovered that Leake had been shot and was unresponsive due to the gunshot wound.
