Lillian Lawanda Singletary, a 36-year-old African American woman, was tragically shot and killed on March 13, 2016, in Laurinburg, North Carolina. She was found unresponsive in the driveway of her home at 614 Jackson Street after police responded to reports of shots fired in the area around 9:30 p.m. Singletary was pronounced dead at the scene, having suffered a single gunshot wound.
