Demetrius Marcellus Chisholm, a 27-year-old African American male from Charlotte, North Carolina, was found dead on June 26, 2016, near Crescent Woods Road off Highway 126 near Lake James in Burke County, Morganton, NC. The Burke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a possible body found in the area, and the victim was later identified as Chisholm. His mother described him as a polite young man and a great father to his twin children.
