Aaron Troy Jacobs, a 24-year-old male from Lillington, NC, was tragically shot and killed on September 21, 2016, in Raleigh, NC. The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. on Capital Boulevard. Jacobs was found in a car and was transported to WakeMed, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Following the incident, Raleigh Police Department homicide detectives launched an investigation that led to the arrest of two suspects.
Shyhem Juvon Wilkerson, a 19-year-old male, was charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Wilkerson was taken into custody and held at the Wake County Detention Center.
A few days later, another suspect, Christopher Jamarz Royster, also 19 years old, was arrested and charged with murder in connection with Jacobs' death. Royster was also detained at the Wake County Detention Center. The case remains under investigation, and authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward.
Jacobs was remembered fondly by his friends and family for his love of working on cars and skateboarding. His obituary highlighted his "Happy Go Lucky" attitude, which endeared him to those who knew him.
