Jameel Leon Barnes, a 26-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on January 24, 2020, in Raleigh, North Carolina. The incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. along the 2100 block of Nelson Street. Barnes was found with a gunshot wound and was immediately taken to WakeMed hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
