The Greensboro Police Department announced an
arrest nearly two years after the incident. Lawrence Jacques Baird, a 27-year-old male from Greensboro, was apprehended and charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Ahmad Campbell and Alisia Dieudonne. Baird was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, discharging a firearm into an occupied property, and probation violation. During his court appearance, Baird was given a $4 million bond.
The deaths of Ahmad Campbell and Alisia Dieudonne were deeply felt by the North Carolina A&T State University community, where both victims were students. Ahmad was studying agriculture and environmental science systems, while Alisia was a computer science major.
