On the evening of November 18, 2023, at approximately 7:44 p.m., Greensboro police responded to reports of a shooting in the 2200 block of New Garden Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered 29-year-old Leighton Devoughn Lyons suffering from serious gunshot injuries. Despite prompt medical attention, Lyons was pronounced dead at the scene.
