Raphael Deshawn Harris, a 26-year-old African American male from Raleigh, NC, was tragically killed on April 11, 2017. The incident occurred in the 400 block of Dorothea Drive, where Harris was found with a gunshot wound shortly after 8:20 p.m. Despite being rushed to Wake Medical Center, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The investigation into Harris's death revealed that it was not a random act of violence. Raleigh police quickly identified potential suspects and began their search.
