Wallace Levon "Pokey" Sturdivant, a 60-year-old African-American male, was tragically shot and killed on June 6, 2017, in Wadesboro, NC. The incident occurred on Salisbury Street, a stretch of U.S. Highway 74, in front of Wadesboro Discount Grocery. Sturdivant was found lying in a vacant lot across the street from the grocery store, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.
