William Kress Horne, a 24-year-old male, was a Deputy Sheriff with the Anson County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina. On December 23, 1984, he responded to a disturbance between two neighbors. As he exited his patrol car, one of the men involved in the disturbance shot him with a shotgun. Deputy Horne was fatally wounded in the incident.
