Darrel Long

On June 24, 2017, Darrel Long, a 63-year-old man from Carthage, NC, was found dead in a camper on Union Pines Drive. Long, who was living in the camper, had been shot once in the chest. The incident began the night before when Long had a physical altercation with Jayne McRee, who told him he had to move out. During the argument, Long grabbed Jayne McRee by the neck. After the altercation, Long returned to the camper for the night.
