Jeffrey Dowd, a 55-year-old man, was tragically shot and killed near Carthage, North Carolina, on January 18, 2017. The incident occurred at a mobile home located in the 100 block of Murdocksville Road around 6:15 p.m. The Moore County Sheriff's Office reported that the shooting stemmed from an argument between Dowd and Gregory Thomas Short, a 62-year-old man from West End.
