William Earl Wright Jr., a 32-year-old African American male from Southern Pines, NC, was found unresponsive beside a house in the 100 block of Merritt Drive outside of Carthage on November 13, 2020. He died at the scene from injuries sustained in a shooting. The Moore County Sheriff's Office responded to the incident and launched an investigation into the homicide.
