Shaun Antwan Holmes, a 19-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on July 17, 2017, in Statesville, North Carolina. The incident occurred on Winona Street around 5:30 p.m., where Holmes was found with gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to Iredell Memorial Hospital, he was pronounced dead around 7 p.m. The Statesville Police Department immediately launched an investigation, treating the case as a homicide.
