Raekwon Smith, a 20-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on August 2, 2017, while sitting on the front porch of his home in High Point, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 1:10 a.m. when a black sedan stopped near the residence and opened fire, hitting Smith in the chest. Despite the efforts of officers and EMS, Smith was pronounced dead at Moses Cone Hospital.
