Derrick D. Byers, a 34-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on October 20, 2018, in High Point, North Carolina. Derrick was shot outside the High Point Bowling Center and Sidelines Bar and Grill at 309 W. Fairfield Road. The incident occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m., and police found two people had been shot in the parking lot. While one victim was taken to the hospital, Derrick Byers succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
