Travis Lee Vogt, a 36-year-old white male from Asheboro, North Carolina, was found dead on February 20, 2018, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The events leading up to his death began on February 15, 2018, when Asheboro Officer Leah Burnette stopped Vogt for speeding through a stoplight at the intersection of Fayetteville and Salisbury streets.
