On August 19, 2018, James Cradle, a 30-year-old man from Washington, North Carolina, was fatally shot. The incident occurred during the early morning hours in the 100 block of East 10th Street. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found Mr. Cradle suffering from gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, where he was later pronounced dead.
