Zalleux Johnson, an 18-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 21, 2019, in Wilmington, North Carolina. The incident occurred in the Creekwood South neighborhood, where Zalleux was shot on the 700 block of Emory Street. Wilmington Police Department officers responded to a ShotSpotter notification shortly after 11 p.m. and found Zalleux with a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
