Tanique Shaquan Allen, a 28-year-old Black male, was reported missing in High Point, North Carolina, on February 19, 2019. His body was discovered on February 20, 2019, in the 1400 block of East Commerce Avenue with a gunshot wound. The High Point Police Department immediately began investigating the case as a homicide. An autopsy was planned to confirm the cause of death, but the gunshot wound was the apparent cause.
The investigation led to the identification of a suspect, Corderrel Latrice McCoy, a 28-year-old male from High Point. Warrants for McCoy's arrest were obtained in connection with the murder of Tanique Shaquan Allen. McCoy was considered armed and dangerous, and the police actively searched for him. On March 1, 2019, the US Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force located and arrested McCoy in York, South Carolina. He was held in the York County jail without bond.
The case remains an active investigation, with the High Point Police Department continuing to seek information related to the crime. The community was encouraged to provide any tips that could lead to further arrests or the resolution of the case.
