Ibn Marshall, a 17-year-old male, was tragically shot and killed on February 27, 2019, in Charlotte, NC. He was found in a vehicle on Grandin Road along with Anu’bius Smith, 19, who also died at the scene. A third man was shot but survived. The incident was believed to be the result of a drug deal gone bad, as drugs were found at the scene.
Two suspects, Furqan Grice, 18, and Anthony Goodson, 18, were arrested the following day for their involvement in the murders.
Both were charged with first-degree murder. However, several years later, the murder charges against them were dismissed by the Mecklenburg County district attorney's office without entering a plea agreement. The dismissal came after a separate incident where a man was murdered on West Sugar Creek.
The case drew significant attention due to the nature of the crime and the subsequent legal proceedings. Despite the dismissal of charges, the community and the families of the victims continue to seek justice and closure.
