James B. Murray Jr., an 18-year-old African American male from Kernersville, North Carolina, was tragically shot and killed on March 17, 2019, at Washington Terrace Park in High Point, North Carolina. The incident occurred when multiple shots were fired from an elevated position, striking Murray and a 13-year-old girl who was also present at the park. The girl sustained a gunshot wound to her leg and was treated at a hospital before being released.
