Margaret was married to Donnie Dewey Furr, who also passed away on the same day. She is survived by her grandson, Cameron Cagle.
The deaths of Margaret and Donnie Furr, along with their daughter Paula Furr, were part of a tragic double murder-suicide incident
in Stanly County. The incident occurred at their residence on Canton Rd. in Albemarle. Cameron Cagle, Paula Furr's 24-year-old son, was also shot but managed to escape through a bathroom window and was taken to the hospital. The sheriff's office confirmed that Cameron was a victim and not the shooter. The family had no history of violence or prior domestic issues.
No suspects were sought in the case, as it was determined to be a murder-suicide. The investigation concluded that the tragic event was an isolated incident with no external perpetrators involved.
