Aiesha Shantel Summers, a 28-year-old African American woman, was tragically shot and killed on August 12, 2019, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred at the Tryon Park at Rivergate apartment complex, where Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, they found Summers, who had been shot. The medical examiner's office later determined that Summers was 24 weeks pregnant at the time of her death.
